I am a freelance court reporter working in New York City. I also work as a Nepali-English interpreter for legal and medical proceedings.
I received my Associate in Occupational Studies (AOS) in Court Reporting from New York Career Institute (NYCI), located in Lower Manhattan, in 2006. I have worked for court reporting agencies in Manhattan, Queens, and Brooklyn, such as Barrister, Reporter’s Ink, and US Legal Support.
I have a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in English, which I received in 1994. And before becoming a full-time court reporter, I had worked as an English teacher, a flight attendant, and as a script writer.
My goals include becoming a Registered Professional Reporter (RPR) and then a Certified Realtime Reporter (CRR). There are many opportunities for court reporters, so I hope to work with a broad spectrum of clients and agencies in different contexts.
In my free time, I love knitting scarfs, sweaters—anything, really—and also enjoy sewing. I love traveling—I am looking forward to visiting South America with my husband, Scott, one day soon.
